It’s a story of a successful businessman called Shekhar who has never done a decent thing in his entire life. For him, it is all about money, deceiving and exploiting others and insulting them. He plays a dominating character in the story and just because he has money and power, he makes people do as he wishes whether they like it or not.
The story becomes interesting when he receives a mysterious phone call from the City of Justice and then a letter later on. Ignoring their strict warnings, he continues to live his life as he wishes, until one day, shortly after insulting a beggar in the street, Shekhar crashes his car and is killed.

(You must be thinking by now that how come he gets a second chance at life after getting killed? Well, I would not unfold that here because then there won’t be a thrill for you to read the entire book and enjoy it.)
So, it’s after this incident that happens to him that changes his vision towards life. He is standing before the Bookkeeper, and being shown where his life had gone wrong, that Shekhar finally understands what life is all about. It’s more of a fantasy sort of novel to read, but it has the power of reality check too.
Because the only thing which goes with you after you die is love and good karma.
